The Easter Bunny...ALREADY?

A mysterious package arrived at our house, full of Easter goodies and a bunny so cute you could almost eat her! Almost...

"This way to the candy...
"No, I didn't hide it. YOU did, but I know where it is--in that little can in the top cupboard. So, PLEASE may I have some more chocolate?"
(Thanks to the Pierat Grandma and Grandpa)

Snug As A Bug

This morning Jane awoke with Bart (even after going to bed late after a ward party last night!), so I wasn't too surprised when she conked out at 9:30. I left her on the couch all snuggly and warm, and apparently Buzz thought she should have her water bottle...just in case. :) (see below)

This morning Charlie brought Tigger and got in bed with me when Bart left for work. After lying there awhile, he saw our Star Wars Pop-up book and wanted to read it. This is what I heard while I closed my eyes:

Tigger: What's that?
Charlie: That's a tauntaun.
Tigger: Oh, it's a tauntaun, huh?

Page turn

Tigger: What's that?
Charlie: That's Vader. He has a red one--lightsaber.
Tigger: Oh, a red one--lightsaber, huh?  What's that?
Charlie: That's Luke. He has a green one--lightsaber.
Tigger: Oh, a green one--lightsaber, huh?

And on and on...  I'm sure some child analyst would find something profound to say about the communication patterns in this family...

SPRING TIME IS HERE!!!

The sun has finally decided to grace us with its presence after two rainy weeks. OK, I guess, technically there were a few sunny days in there, but it feels like two full weeks of rain. I'm not complaining; I LOVE cloudy, rainy, weather--must be because I'm from the desert. ANYHOO--my family members were more than happy to get outside. And I couldn't agree more:

There is NOTHING like good fresh air accompanied by the glorious sun.

Jane has discovered the delight in pulling petals off flowers.

We took a walk at our town commons. The kids and I went there when my parents visited, but Bart hadn't seen it yet. It's a nice place.

This is Jedi Charlie, Whoops! I mean, LUKE riding his Tauntaun.
(and if you don't know what a Tauntaun is, SHAME ON YOU! Go watch "The Empire Strikes Back!")

Pirates Ahoy!!

Our crew of swashbucklin' pirates is excited to welcome
St. Anthony and Bel of the Ball
to our band--beginning June-ish.

WELCOME ABOARD!

Head Gear

While I was folding laundry, Jane kept grabbing her pajama pants and running. I finally put them on her head. She loved it! After sporting one pair for a few minutes, she'd pull them off and bring me a new pair. She even handed me her top to put on my head--but the self portrait was less than acceptable, so sorry.

Needless to say, we are all about fashion in this household!

When I pulled the camera out, Charlie started saying, "Cheese." This is quite irregular, so I had to comply!

Cousin Mike

This post is mostly for Anne's parents benefit. My 2nd cousin, Mike, was working on the Home Makeover show near here so we went up and had dinner with him. Dinner was short, since we got there just before the restaurant closed (and our waitress was a little peevy about it!...it's not our fault you close your doors at 8:00!) so it was a REALLY short trip. But well worth it! He's a nice, easy going guy and it's always nice to see familiar familial faces. (nice alliteration there, eh?)

Say What?

Sometimes I have to wonder at the things we say as parents:

Charlie has had a hard time including Jane in his sword fighting. He, of course, doesn't think she is a worthy opponent, and she, of course, thinks she is

Today I walked in the front room to see them sword fighting and running after each other. I said,

"Oh, are you fighting? GOOD JOB!!"

Learning by example

Many of you know that Charlie has a very sensitive gag reflex. He pukes at EVERYTHING. The other day he was having yet another bought of dry heaving (I think he may have felt a booger in his own nose *eye roll*), so I picked him up and rushed him off to the toilet where he retched a couple of times before settling down. Of course, being 1 and having a need to be in the middle of everything, Jane saw this whole rundown.

Now whenever I'm in the bathroom, Jane follows, leans over the toilet (lid closed, of course), makes a few gagging sounds, and walks out.  Lovely.

First Pigtails

Jane's hair is getting so long and I tried to put it up for the first time today.
What can  I say,
SHE IS SO CUTE!!!

She was so pleased at this new trick!

A Good Day

We went to the temple on Friday and then to the Museum of Life and Science.
It was a good day.

It almost looks like a bow, but it's real!

Some people may call it cruel,

but I had to document it!

Jane was mad at me this morning because I wouldn't (couldn't) put her sandals on over her shoes, over her footed PJs.

OH THE DRAMA!!

Pirates Ahoy! ChaptAAARGH 1

(If you don't read this with a pirate accent, you'll miss the fun)

Here be, this jolly ole pirate,
THE DREAD PIRATE ROBERT

He and his wench, kARRi the Corrupt were washed ashore nearby.

We joined tharr pitiful wee band for much wanderin' and groggin',
searched fer booty, and frolicked in the sand.

Then they told us thar sad tale, of losin' their Toyota, and the search for a new vessel.

ChaptAARGH 2: Searchin' For a New Vessel

Since they lost thar transport (poor, poor, Toyota) to the mysterious doin's of their lass, Mary Moony, we searched far and wide fer alternative modes.

"This boat'll never do," says Robert. "Leave it to Davy Jones."

"I don't see a ship in this fountain, Grandpa, but thar's plenty o' booty!"

"We could rope some sea turtles..."

"...or borrow the Elizabeth II from the Lost Colony."

"Nah. I think it be cursed. I've already got Bob's Nob to me name.
Don't want to be atemptin' fate!"
