Cooking with Jane

I love this stage of Jane's life. She is really starting to play. Yesterday, while I was cleaning the kitchen, she was "cooking." I watched her for quite a few minutes to be sure she really was doing what she was doing. It was no fluke. She did it again and again. Here is what I saw:

1. Add Ingredients

2. Mix Well

3. Taste the Finished Product!
(Tasting is a VERY important part of cooking, as Anne will tell you!)

Today at Lunch...

"Charlie, would you like some more sandwich?"
"I not Charlie, I Anakin."
Oh. "Anakin, would you like more sandwich?"
"Yes, Padme."
While making the sandwich, "Padme? [then spoke some Charlie gibberish]"
After taking him the sandwich, "Thanks, Padme."
"You're welcome, Anakin."

SNOW!!!!

Of course we would move here the one year when it would snow. I guess the 30 winter hats we had boxed up (Bart's fetish) will come in handy after all! We should probably, according to the Law of Consecration, ask our friends and neighbors if they need a hat--if they even know what they are...
...except that Bart just came in and said, "No, we're not giving any hats away." Sorry, folks. Maybe next time it snows--in 5 years or so.

The kids loved the snow--this is Jane's first time playing in it and she liked watching it fall. She did NOT like how cold it was.

Charlie, being pure boy, loved stomping it, kicking it up, and of course, catching it on his tongue.
(and eating it off the ground)

Tuckered

After we played in the snow we came in to make lunch and while she was waiting, Jane fell asleep.

No Nap

There has been a mutiny toward nap time.
Charlie thinks that he no long needs one, although by 5:00, if he doesn't sleep earlier, he falls asleep standing.

The other day he came down and built himself a little nest between the legs of our giant panda and read to Tigger. Then I heard him say, "Please, I wanna stay up."

"No, Tigger."

Wonder where he got that...

Turning Three

It's amazing how fast 3 years has flown by.
3 years ago cute little Charlie was born. That was an eventful day, but much, MUCH more has happened since then.  I'll spare you the details...

We did some of Charlie's favorite things today. Since it was raining we stayed inside and I let him watch WAY too many movies.

He likes doughnuts so we opted for a doughnut tower rather than cake he would only lick the frosting off of.

He blew out candles three (maybe four) different times and had a blast doing it!

Mmm-mmm!

Random...

Yesterday morning I was downstairs making breakfast. I called up to Charlie, "Charlie, please come down for breakfast." He called back, "I'm Luke, Mom!"

O.K.

"Luke, please come down for breakfast!"

Came the reply, "O.K. Vader! I'm coming!"

Sunbeam

The other day I sang Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam at a random moment.
It's a song we haven't taught Charlie yet, but he sang all the words with me thereby proving he IS getting something out of nursery (besides terrorizing all the girls and the one and only other boy)!

However, by the time I pulled the camera out, his performance had deteriorated somewhat.

It's still cute...

Family Fun

Bart's new camera clicker is all kinds of fun.
We weren't sure how to get the kids to look at the camera, but when you offer a little boy the power of pushing the button, all kinds of opportunities open up!
As for Jane, I was tickling her feet. (Please don't tell Grandma Mathis!)

Grandma Bart knit that hat for Jane. Isn't it fabulous??

Charlie after church in the sweater Grandma knit for him.

New Hat

This is a New Hat that Charlie received for his birthday knit especially for him by his Grandmother.  As you can see he likes it!  He is going to be Three on the 13th of the Month.

So much fun it hurts...

...or it hurts because it's so much fun??
(Kind of like laughing really really hard--only without the strange distortions.)
